On May 27 the World Travel and Tourism Council announced that Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean are the first destination in the American content to be awarded the Global Safety Stamp. Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean join Saudi Arabia, Portugal, and Sevilla in this exclusive list of tourism destinations around the world that the WTTC and the UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) have designated as the safest to visit due to their implementation of safety and hygienic measures and the effective following of the guidelines that the WHO, the CDC, the WTTC, the UNWTO and other organizations have proposed to ensure traveler’s safety during these times.
This new certification is being issued as a way to appease travelers that want to resume their globe trotting activities and families looking for a relaxing vacation in these trying times. Gloria Guevara Manzo President and CEO of the WTTC and Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of the UNWTO have said that by reopening these world-class tourism centers with the backing of their respective organizations is a key step in restarting the world’s tourism industry by boosting traveler’s confidence in their safety. The Global Safety Stamp covers all activities related to tourism, from air travel, ground transportation, restaurants and entertainment to attractions, tours and theme parks.
This means that here in Cancun and the Riviera Maya we are ready for the next step in the Covid-19 saga: the reopening! The State of Quintana Roo is already doing everything possible to keep the corona virus outbreak under control and prevent any future outbreaks. This effort has yielded results, results that are now being recognized at a global scale; but rest assure, receiving the Global Safety Stamp is both a reward and an incentive to keep doing what we are doing. As we work to reopen we look forward to having you back in our corner of paradise and hope that you will put your trust in us to give you the incredible vacations you deserve.
Hello, concerned travelers! As a small, local, family business, we cannot be gin to express how much we appreciate your support during this challenging time. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 corona virus crisis, your safety and the safety of our staff has always been and will continue to be our #1 priority. We have used this time to learn, prepare, teach & train for the new travel regulations. Below you can find our new health & sanitary protocols for our private transfers & tours:
The above steps have been thoughtfully prepared with your safety & comfort in mind. They are subject to modifications as we navigate through the changing regulations of state & national government. More below!…
On another note, what has our CARM family been up to?….
Unlike other transportation & tour companies in our area, we are very proud to be able to say that during this difficult time: We kept our ENTIRE staff employed & taken care of, and did not lay anyone off. Our employees are like our family (and in some cases they are family-we have fathers, daughters and brothers working side by side).
Our ENTIRE customer service staff also dedicated their full time work hours during this crisis to giving back to our community on Isla Mujeres. CARM supported various families privately with food donations, and headed up Isla Animal’s Pet Food Project. This project was created to provide free pet food & flea/tick medicine delivery to residents so people can use their money for food/bills for their family and avoid abandoning pets on the street (This also included a 2 day free spay/neuter clinic). We also worked with groups delivering food for residents, offered future services as prizes for raffles/auctions to raise funds for unemployed residents and for a local child in need of a kidney transplant. Giving back to our home community is very important to us!
We look forward to seeing you again soon in paradise. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us!
Thanks to the successful implementation of sanitary measures Cancun and the Riviera Maya have managed to contain corona-virus to the point in which we are ready to reopen our doors. As we prepare for this many of the tour operators, theme parks and other attractions have begun to plan their return.
The state of Quintana Roo’s government has created a sanitary certification system for tourism providers to ensure everyone’s health and safety. We are already in the verification phase for this certification. Now we only have to wait a few more weeks for authorities to relax restrictions and reopen flights to this destination.
We look forward to being able to restart our services soon. Here you can see a list of the scheduled reopening dates for our tours and attractions as stated in their official statements:
Carlos Joaquín, Governor of Quintana Roo, announced that: “Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean have implemented the new safety measures for travelers that WTTC has recognized and approved through the Safe Travels stamp.”
Thanks to their “Xafety 360” initiative, Group Xcaret has become one of the first private groups in the world to receive this safety certification. What’s more, this 100% Mexican company that runs some of the Mexican Caribbean’s biggest attractions is the only entertainment and theme park company in the world to have this certification.
The safety and hygiene measure implemented by Xcaret Group for the upcoming reopening of their parks and hotel this June 15 are the reason why the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has awarded them this honor. And these are the same reasons why you will be able to feel at ease when you visit us. Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean are already headed towards their grand reopening backed by the WTTF, and now with Xcaret Group joining them in the list of safe-to-visit-places list we are one step closer to being able to guarantee you an incredible, unforgettable and safe vacation.

As announced, Xcaret Park and the Xcaret Mexico Hotel opened their doors on June 15th, holding an emotional celebration to welcome the first new visitors after the pandemic closure.
Als the Xcaret group also has announced its other parks (Xel-Ha, Xplor, Xichen, Xoximilco, Xenotes, Xenses and Xavage) will open on July 1st, as well as their tours and excursions.
